Ashleys Sandcastle: Stretched Out and Responded With Strong 2nd | Upcoming Race:Santa Anita April 21, 2024

Three year old filly for Phil D’Amato found her hole card on Sunday in a Cal bred maiden special weight at one mile on the turf. After showing very little in two dirt sprints, D’Amato stretched her out and put her on the grass and at 14/1, she responded with a strong second place finish. Last into the clubhouse turn and down the back side, she went from last to first in one furlong at the 3/8 pole, but the move was too soon and she hung in the drive and was beaten two at the wire. She’ll get her diploma next start out and they may just be a rider switch to boot. Follow.
