John’s Protege: Looked Like Winner Around Turn, Tough To Beat Next Start

Looked like a winner around the turn as he ranged up to the leaders and challenged the Lone ‘F’ entering the stretch. However, he couldn’t match strides with his rival in deep stretch, but held on well to finish 2nd. With a better pace scenario, he could prove tough to beat next time out.
