Lottery Pick: Rallied to Lead but Nailed Late to Lose by a Half While 3rd Was 5 Lenghts Back

Four year old gelding for Peter Eurton made just his 2nd start in the last 12 months on Saturday in a maiden claimer with a tag of $50K at a mile on the turf. Off at 5/2 in a field of 9 under Prat, he was in a good tracking position down the back side, rallied to the lead at the top of the lane, and then got nailed late to lose by a half at the wire. It was a good five lengths back to the third horse. His next start will be his 3rd off the layoff and he raced without Lasix today. He wins his next start if Prat rides him back. He was a Turfdom Best Bet on the day and paid $4.00 to place.

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Lottery Pick was cabable of.  We expected that if Lottery Pick gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Lottery Pick performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Lottery Pick last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Lottery Pick next start.  If Lottery Pick appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Lottery Pick will dominate the race.

Helpful Tip:  So that it’s easy for you to compare a horse’s past performance, Today’s Racing Digest’s Performance Figures for upcoming races are based on how we expect the horse to perform in that race regardless of any changes in race conditions.  Learn More:
