$248,140 Pick 6 Carryover at Belmont Park!
The Belmont Park Pick 6 Carryover pool is $248,140 and it is up for grabs WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26th!
I’m amazed at how many bettors are still unaware of the new pick 6 rule created by the NYRA.
New Pick 6 rule at NYRA tracks
The New York Racing Association (NYRA) implemented a new Pick 6 rule a long time ago, and I’m surprised at how many times players are surprised when they hear of this change. Just in case you don’t know about it, here it is.
The new rule, which has been approved by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board, is the “all-win.” The “all-win” goes into effect when the condition of the turf causes a change in the racing surface for any leg of the Pick 6, and that change is not known to the public before the closing of the Pick 6 pool. If this occurs, everyone who has played the Pick 6 has a guaranteed winner for that race.
Example: The Pick 6 races on a certain day are races 4-9, with the 7th race scheduled for the turf. However, during the course of the day, a thunderstorm occurs and forces some or all of the remaining scheduled turf races on to the main track. The seventh race thus becomes an “all-win” event, and counts as a winning leg for anyone holding a Pick 6 ticket.
Carryovers from prior Pick 6 pools will be distributed provided there is no more than one “all-win” event and no other races are canceled in the Pick 6 sequence.
The new rule change protects the bettor’s Pick 6 investment from the uncertainty of late-developing surface changes.
