Cashier's Line Patrick McQuiggan passes away Thurs. night at 64

Patrick McQuiggan, host of the long-running “Track Talk” radio show in Las Vegas, a regular guest on the Race Day Las Vegas and Thoroughbred Los Angeles radio shows, and the in-house handicapper for the South Point Hotel Casino, died Thursday night (March 19, 2020). He was 64. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Known for his flashy attire for events like St. Patrick’s Day, the Kentucky Derby, and the National Finals Rodeo, McQuiggan grew up a horse racing fan in Southern California. He owned and operated McQuiggan’s Irish Pub in the San Gabriel Valley near Santa Anita for years before moving to Las Vegas where he worked with Gordon Jones as an in-house handicapper at Sam’s Town before moving to his position at the South Point Hotel Casino.

He was known for signing off on his radio shows with this long-running passage: “See you in the Cashier’s Line!”

McQuiggan is survived by two bothers and a son from a previous marriage. Funeral arrangements are pending.
