Mother Goose Analysis + Fabulous Five Fillies

The next big race for the top 3-year-old fillies is the Mother Goose Stakes (G2) at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 29. Dunbar Road is the strong favorite, and she is part of my Fabulous Five Sophomore Fillies list.

Mother Goose Stakes (G2) Analysis From Belmont Park (6-29-19)

BEL 8 (G2 Mother Goose, 8.5f) #1 DUNBAR ROAD (4-5) has been carefully spotted this year, and the Chad Brown trainee has run well in all three outings. This looks like a great spot to pick up her first graded win. She figures to save ground stalking the pace under Jose Ortiz. #6 Wings of Dawn (5-1) exits back-to-back all-weather route wins at Woodbine for Mark Casse. She is improving and might be able to get a piece of this. #2 Classic Fit (8-1) won three straight to end her 2018 campaign including the Hut Hut at Gulfstream Park. This is her first start in more than six months, and she adds lasix. Wagers: Exacta 1-6, Trifecta Key 1/2-6

Jarrod Horak’s Fabulous Five Sophomore Fillies (6-28-19)

#1 - GUARANA - Razor sharp Acorn (G1) winner breezed at Belmont June 23.

#2 - POINT OF HONOR - Black-Eyed Susan (G2) winner can run all day. Training at Saratoga.

#3 - CHAMPAGNE ANYONE - Got no pace help in Ky. Oaks (G1). Worked a solid 5f at Churchill June 21.

#4 - DUNBAR ROAD - Guarana's stablemate looks tough to deny in Mother Goose (G2).

#5 - CE CE - Better than appears 4th in Acorn (G1). I expect her to run much better next time.
