Calm Sea: Soon To Be Winner With Barn Heating Up

Three year old gelding for George Papaprodromou made his 3rd start of his career and first around two turns in Sunday’s opener, a mile turf affair for maiden special weight sophomores. Off at 6/1 in a field of 9, he settled nicely for Desormeaux into the clubhouse turn and was 4th, three back of the leaders. He was 7 back by the half mile pole, but made his move at the 3/8 pole to contend, stuck his nose in front turning for home, but was out gamed late and settled for second, beaten a half at the wire. This one is bred top and bottom for the turf and with the blinkers off, he settled nicely. He’s a soon winner for a barn that is heating up the last few weeks at this meet.
