Tom’s X S: Poor Start With 5 Wide Trip To Finish With a Win

Four year old gelding for James Cassidy made start #2 on Friday after an impressive debut 7 weeks ago. Off at 5/2 in this maiden special weight for Cal breds at ¾ on the main, he missed the start completely under Smith and spotted the field four lengths rather quickly. Breaking from the two hole, the jock wheeled him to the outside and he made up good ground around the 3/8 pole, took the lead into the stretch, and though he hung some the final sixteenth, he still won by ¾ at the wire. The race was visually impressive based on the poor start and the five wide trip. His debut was on the turf and he missed by only a neck in a strong performance, so he handles either surface for the low profile Cassidy barn

Generally horses that are on the Horses To Watch list ran into unexpected trouble, bad luck, and/or didn’t run the race we believe Tom’s X S was cabable of.  We expected that if Tom’s X S gets a good trip in their next start than we should see an improvement in Tom’s X S performance figures.  Use the performance figures earned in Tom’s X S last race (listed above) and compare them to the field and pars of Tom’s X S next start.  If Tom’s X S appears to have earned higher performance figures in the last race when running into trouble  as compared to the rest of the field’s expected perfomance in the upcoming race than there is a good chance that Tom’s X S will dominate the race.
