Virasana: Looks Like Stakes Material

Three year old filly for Peter Eurton made start #2 on Sunday in a maiden special weight event at ¾ on the main. Off at 12/1 in a field of just six, she made the running quickly under Maldonado and engaged early through quick splits of 21.85 and 44.67. She put the other speed away approaching the ¼ pole, then quickly opened up on the field at the 1/8 pole. She won by 9 geared down the last 50 yards and there were some nice fillies in behind her, namely two Baffert runners who were 2nd and 4th. She had shown good speed in her debut, but had to duel from the rail in that race. She was drawn outside today and it made all the difference. She was a Turfdom top choice selection and paid $26.80. In fact we had the exact order of the first four finishers. Up the ladder for this daughter of Lord Nelson who looks like stakes material in 2023.
